Origins
We don't buy coffee. We buy farms.
Drift started in 2017 when our founder, a mechanical engineer by training, got frustrated that every bag of "specialty" coffee in the city traced back to the same two anonymous importers. So she started flying to the farms herself.
Today we work with eleven farms across Chikmagalur, Coorg, Ethiopia, and Guatemala — all relationships we've built in person, not over email. We pay above commodity price, we publish what we pay, and we go back every harvest season to taste the new crop before we commit to it.
That's slower and more expensive than buying through a broker. It also means every bag has a real farm, a real processing method, and a real story behind it — not a marketing label.
